Conchs are a large part of Bahamian culture, since it’s used heavily in the island’s cuisine and local tradition. But the Bahamas’ conch communities are dwindling due to overfishing. Studies are showing that the conch population in the Bahamas is dropping significantly, and some scientists argue that the sea creatures could be extinct within 10 years.
